The error comes from that you do not have write permission on /home/...../settings.ini, while Multiwfn is trying to rewrite it. You should put Multiwfn folder in a directory where you have full read-write permission.

Hello,

Great piece of software. Trying to set up on Linux workstation (Suse Leap 15.2). have installed the relevant openmotif and this seems to work as the GUI to choose a file areas. whoever when I select a molden file (created with ORCA) it says:

forrtl: severe (47): write to READONLY file, unit 20, file /home/...../settings.ini

and then aborts. It is bound to be a setting error, but not one mentioned elsewhere.

the molden file works as I have used it with the verison I have running. I am trying to set up a linux version for a student who doesnt have access to a windows machine.

thanks in advance

Alex
